Mazda's newest variant of its high performance 2010 Mazdaspeed3 five-door hatchback created its globe debut in European-spec MPS cut at the '09 Geneva Motor Show in March and is visiting New york city for it's U. S. bow. Below everything sparkly brand new sheetmetal and at the rear of that smiling face is a familiar vehicle, one that we have developed to adore for its bargain performance. Mazda's TWO. 3L turbocharged and direct-injected motor still resides between the front side wheels and directs power to them via a six-speed manual transmission whose ratios have been modified for softer velocity. Strength should be unchanged through '09, so expect nothing lower than the present car's 263-hp/280 lb-ft output. It is also expected to wear the same 12. 6-in front and 11. 0-in back brakes as the aged vehicle, though Mazda has now added electronic Braking system Help to the ABS and balance handle methods to keep everything under control.
The largest modifications are skin-deep. The brand new go-fast Mazda3's Nagare-style grinning grille remains mostly the same up front, however features reworked air intakes that supply transferring air to the brakes more efficiently. Additionally of note on the front clip is the removal of reduce ducts set under the foglights. Extra aggressive side skirts keep on the Mazdaspeed concept along the flanks and to the rear, the improvements culminate with a blacked-out back diffuser sporting a double exhaust. A more pronounced wing also perches over the five-door's hatchback. Bolder fenders house the bigger wheel and tire set up, while the bulging cover includes a gaping scoop to supply the intercooler.
